Where can we send the check so we can get our spot secured.  There will be four of us.  Also does this include transportation to and from Leavenworth and if so will the bus be leaving from the Norwester like the last time we went on our own.  We are interested in the 2 day event leaving on Saturday morning.

Thank you,

Just an FYI, my family & I went and did the Tree Lighting last year and did a sleigh ride.  Do not go and do the Icicle Sleigh Rides   Angry , choose one that is up Chumstick Canyon.  Basically, we were on a sleigh ride, but in a field just outside of town.  Don't get me wrong, it was okay but after the fact found out that there are MUCH better places to experience this.  And, for a better price.  Best choices are: Eagle Creek Ranch (http://www.eaglecreek.ws/sleigh.shtml) or Mountain Springs Lodge (http://www.mtsprings.com/sleigh.html).
If you have never done this...GO!!!  Leavenworth is beautiful, no matter the season!

Greetings ALL from your VP and Recreation Committee coordinator!

This post and the email below are intended for the entire RCPOA.  I don't have everyone's email address so please forward this information to you fellow Retired CPOs.  There is interest from our Active Duty Brothers and Sisters.

Jessica Wilson-McFarlane with MWR ITT "Build a Trip" has put together some preliminary information based initial input from the RCPOA, and we have focused in on December 11th and 12th.  Attached is an email showing her work.  As you can see, the pricing is pretty attractive.  Saturday, I presented to those on the Winery Tour (great time, by the way) that we could depart Saturday morning vice Friday evening, save a little expenses, and still do and see what we planned for.  All seemed to agree.  Further, Jessica and I connected this afternoon and expanded/refined the trip planning to include some activities like a group sleigh ride and possibly a tour of the Gingerbread Factory and/or the Nutcracker Museum.  She is digging into it today through Friday.  For a short trip, it's going to be chock full of Christmas activity.

The next step.  She has found King suites for $99 dollars located in Wenatchee (about 20 miles from Leavenworth) without the two-day minimum room obstacle we found for the Oktoberfest celebration, but they won't last long.  Those seriously interested in joining the trip, prompt payment is coming soon.  We will need a $100 deposit to secure the rooms with the balance due as listed in her email.  These room prices are introductory from a new hotel (Comfort Suites) and will go up prior to opening.  The deposit will secure lodging at the $99 dollar rate.  Costs listed for the venue may change as the add-on events are calculated.  I hope to have that information by weeks end or early next week.  I would like your deposit, made payable to the RCPOA, by the 21st of August.  This will allow us to secure with MWR ITT the trip.  This may seem a little early, but lodging availability in Leavenworth is already gone for the above dates.

This looks like it is going to "Tons of Fun"!  More updates coming very soon.

Have a GREAT Day!!!
Bud

SALUTATIONS!

I just posted some video to the RCPOA Facebook page for you to look over, because I can't post it here (no juice).  The NPS has completed some upgrades/improvements which may limit us on RVs and size.  Take a look here:

Any and all feedback is appreciated both on Facebook and here.

Hey All

RCPOA is planning a Christmas Event in Leavenworth, WA, for Friday, December 10th through the 12th.  Pretty much the same itinerary as the Oktoberfest trip with a different theme.  More information will be posted as we plan it.

A sign up list is posted on the glass in the CPO Club lounge for those considering going.  There is no limit at this time and will be based on first come first served.  keep your eyes and ears open.  It will go fast when we get moving.  Lodging is the big deal.
